My name is Hoi Yin, and I am a psychodynamic psychotherapist based in Cambridge with over ten years of experience working in mental health. I have supported both young people and adults in navigating emotional difficulties, relationship challenges, and periods of uncertainty.

My work is grounded in values of autonomy, empowerment, integrity, and compassion. I work from a psychodynamic perspective, with a particular interest in trauma and in exploring cultural and identity-related experiences. This approach focuses on understanding how past and present experiences are held internally and how they may shape emotional wellbeing, relationships, and one’s sense of self.

I offer a thoughtful and supportive therapeutic space where these experiences can be explored safely and at a pace that feels right, supporting deeper self-understanding and meaningful change over time.

English is my main working language. I am also fluent in Cantonese and can offer therapy in Cantonese if this feels more comfortable. I come from a British-born Chinese background, which may be helpful for clients who wish to explore cultural identity and experiences within therapy.

You may have come across my work through CPSL Mind, where I have facilitated wellbeing workshops and contributed to interviews promoting initiatives such as calm spaces. This work is held separately from my psychotherapy practice, as it sits outside the psychodynamic framework that underpins my therapeutic work.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) and work in accordance with the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions.
